Applied data gathering techniques of interviewing and joint session facilitation. Requirements were modeled using event analysis, process modeling and data modeling techniques such as data flow, decomposition, and entity relationship diagramming.  The following representative projects included significant systems analysis and design as well as some programming responsibilities:

  • Facilitated the efforts of fifteen managers of a telecommunications company to structure and plan a program for reengineering logistics management and inventory functions.  Applied package-enabled reengineering methods and subsequently conducted an abbreviated conference room pilot and gap analysis with PeopleSoft.

  • Advised a tax consulting team in developing a “lite” version of their comprehensive methodology and tools to manage projects of fewer than 1000 hours.  Provided structure for the team’s work, planned and conducted two conference room pilots and a focus group.  Coordinated efforts with the communications, change management, competencies, and training teams.  Led the Technology Planning Team in developing the infrastructure architecture for outsourcing of tax departments.  Designed organizational structures for supporting outsourcing, a data management process, and an applications architecture.

  • Managed the design of a federal government agency payroll system.  The system was designed for the UNIVAC 1100 operating environment using Yourdon structured techniques and automated development tools.

  • Managed an effort to implement a labor distribution system for a large federal agency.  The project included all phases of application development from requirements analysis through system test execution.  The system interfaced with other systems including payroll, personnel, and accounting.

  • Assisted in the development of a corporate information system on an IBM 9370 for a state’s corporation commission.  Gathered requirements and verified them in structured walkthroughs.  Produced a training plan, an enhancements requirements document, and an acceptance test plan.  Prepared the user manual and worked with the programming staff during construction of the system.
